ChartroomLab

Maritime software · Est. on watch

Software made on the bridge.

Small, reliable tools for seafarers. Built by a deck officer, tested at sea, and made to work without internet.

The tools

Each one started as a real problem on board, and each one is already in use by crews and officers.

Onboarding

Crew familiarisation in one QR scan.

Live aboard an anchor-handling vessel
  • Emergency card for every cabin: muster station, life rafts, what to do at each alarm
  • Muster list by rank, alarms you can listen to, escape routes, meal times and house rules
  • Installs on any phone and opens without signal, in English, Spanish and Portuguese

BlackLog

The officer's black notebook, digital.

In use by deck officers · Play Store soon
  • Write down what matters on watch, and see everything still pending at a glance
  • Monthly calendar for dates and deadlines
  • A sheet with the ship's own data, ready when you join a new vessel. Works offline, with backup

About the lab

Every tool starts as a problem on watch.

ChartroomLab is the workshop of Bianca Tortore, a bridge officer in the merchant navy. The tools are designed from the bridge, with the people who will use them, and kept deliberately simple: they have to work for someone tired, between watches, with no signal.

The same approach can be applied to your vessel or fleet: onboarding packs from your own muster list, handover notes, certificate tracking.
